ABOUT THE DISC & RECORDINGS:

This edition of the series of CDs entitled "The Sound Of The Movies" from Hamburg, Germany features tracks from the Rhino edition of For Me And My Gal, plus tracks from the soundtracks of two Fred Astaire films: 1940's Second Chorus (Paramount) and 1942's You Were Never Lovelier (Columbia). The sound quality on these last two is especially bad, no telling what was used as the source material.

For some reason, the producers of this CD did not include several instrumental tracks from the Gal Rhino CD, nor did they include the "Y.M.C.A. Montage", the original and ultimately deleted finale version of the song "For Me And My Gal", the outtakes of "Tell Me" and George Murphy's "I'm Sorry I Made You Cry". If you want the complete soundtrack, it's best to get the Rhino edition.
