Judy's wonderful first co-starring role with Gene Kelly never
had a soundtrack album until this 1978 "gatefold" record
came out. This record has very good sound quality, even if
it was probably taped from a television showing of the film.
Oddly, when M-G-M Records began releasing some of Judy's
pre-soundtrack album era soundtrack performances, songs from
For Me And My Gal were never included.
No songs from For Me And My Gal would show up on CD until
the 1990 CBS Special Products release of the complete songs
from That's Entertainment,
Part Two. The recording sessions
then showed up on the 1995 laser disc "Judy
Garland- The Golden Years At M-G-M". And finally, the complete restored
soundtrack was released by Rhino in 1996 (see below).
