ABOUT THE DISC & RECORDINGS:Judy Garland Picture Disc

This album is misleading. Most of the tracks are not from Judy singing in San Francisco. Most are from the 1967 "Judy At The Palace" album, a few are from Judy's 1952 appearance in San Francisco, California at the Curran Theater. "Purple People Eater" is a line recording made directly from Judy's microphone from her September 1958 appearance in Chicago, Illinois.

This was executive produced by Judy's ex-husband Sid Luft, who would become "notorious" for releasing albums that were mis-represented, such as listing a song as "live" when in fact it would be a studio recording with applause added.

All images on this page from the collections of Eric Hemphill and Scott Brogan.

The photo at the right is the very rare "picture disc" version of this album. Click on it for details.
