SPOTLIGHT!
JUDY ON THE BACKLOT

Featuring interactive maps, rare photos, and more!

Judy Garland had what many consider to be the greatest voice of the 20th Century.  But she was much more than “just a voice.”   She was also a great actress, dancer, and comedienne.  It’s through her films that the majority of fans first discovered her talents, and these films continue to delight audiences decades after they were first released.

Judy Garland remains one of the few entertainers of her day who is still easily recognizable today.  Part of this is due to the fact that she had a very natural acting style that holds up today, never coming across as “actressy” as many other well-known actresses of her era.  It helps that her films are of the highest quality and are truly timeless, including several recognized as masterpieces.

The Judy Room’s Filmography Section is split here into the following categories:

Each feature film has its own page full of data, photos, and details about the productions.  The spotlighted films are just that, spotlights that are more in-depth than the regular pages with a separate look and feel.  I hope you like them!

The Shorts Page features details about the shorts Judy appeared in – plus shorts that utilized cut numbers and other clips.

The Shorts – Gumm Sisters Page features details about the shorts that Judy made with her sisters, prior to her signing with MGM.

Finally, the Unfinished “The Films That Got Away) Page features details about the films that Judy was unable to complete, as well as known proposed projects that never happened or were eventually made without her involvement.
