The Warner Classics Collection (formerly the Warner Archive Collection) has become the label of choice for releasing Judy’s MGM & Warner Bros. film catalog. Luckily for fans, the label has begun releasing newly remastered HD editions of the films for the first time.
Below are all of the Archive releases, and you’ll notice some repeats. The Archive has re-released films on Blu-ray that were formerly on standard DVD. These Blu-ray upgrades are worth the double dipping. They have been remastered into HD from the available original film elements, including (in most cases) the original nitrate Technicolor 3-strip negatives. To say that the films look brand new is an understatement. Nothing can beat that glorious Technicolor format!
The thumbnails below are listed in reverse chronological order and link to the separate Warner Classics Archive Collection here in The Judy Room, which provides details about each release (and links to buy them).
The Wizard of Oz has been released and rereleased (and rereleased and rereleased…) on home media since the beginning of the home media “revolution” in the late 1970s. It’s no wonder. The film is a staple of childhood movie watching and a must-have for any film collector or movie fan.
Below are the highlights. The images here are just some of the DVD, Blu-ray, 3D, and 4K releases. The subpages have even MORE versions released in those years and/or prior, including laserdisc and VHS.
Here are the various releases of episodes from “The Judy Garland Show.” Unfortunately, none of the episodes have been released on Blu-ray.
The following are film collections as well as some releases that feature either outtake footage (Annie Get Your Gun) or film shorts (on the Marie Antoinette, A Christmas Carol, and Singin’ In The Rain DVDs) and other notable Garland appearances on home media.
Here are some concert and TV appearances (other than “The Judy Garland Show”).
