That's Entertainment, Part 2

ABO
UT THE DISC & RECORDINGS:

Back of the album
The first was such a success that they followed it up with a second installment in 1976 that featured not only songs, but dramatic and comedy routines.

This has the distinction of being the only film aside from 1946's Ziegfeld Follies in which Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire dance together.

Unlike its predecessor, this soundtrack is only one record, and all of the numbers are very trimmed, just take a look at the times below. This could possibly be due to the fact that this soundtrack was released by MGM Records whereas That's Entertainment! (1974) was released on LP by MCA Records. Still, it was the first legitimate release of Judy's version of "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" from Meet Me In St. Louis (1944) - even though the first verse is cut. The same goes for Judy and Fred Astaire's "A Couple Of Swells" from Easter Parade (1948) which although trimmed it includes the entire dance break. Both were recorded directly from the soundtracks of the film..

In 1985 MCA Records reissued this soundtrack (MCA #6155), with the exact same cover art and tracks as part of their brief "MCA Classics Soundtracks" series. The series included the MGM logo on each album.

In 1990 CBS Special Products released the complete soundtrack (CBS AK 46873) on a special double-CD as part of their series of MGM soundtracks recorded directly from the films themselves.
