Considering
that Meet Me In St. Louis was one of Judy's most famous
and popular movies roles, it seems odd that a "complete" soundtrack
album would not appear until this bootleg in 1981. M-G-M Records
had previously
released "The Boy Next Door" and "The Trolley
Song" on various
compilations
albums, while "Under The Bamboo Tree" and "Have
Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" appeared on the soundtracks
for That's
Entertainment! (1974) and That's
Entertainment! Part 2 (1976) respectively. But no
complete soundtrack.
The sound quality on this album isn't great, especially now
that we have the Rhino Records remastered version (see below)
in true stereo. Even with the Rhino Records version, we still
have bootleg CDs that have been released of dubious sound quality!
