ABOUT THE DISC & RECORDINGS:

This out of print laser disc boxed set was the premiere release of Meet Me In St. Louis restored and in full stereo. The entire soundtrack was remastered into true stereo utilizing the original prerecordings that miraculously survived.

The video portion of his set features the restored version of the film, as well as a special documentary "The Making Of An American Classic".

The caveats of the set are the alternate audio tracks which contain various takes and rehearsals of the score. This is still the only source for these recordings. The beautiful new DVD special edition that was released in 2004 does not include these alternate audio tracks.

As an added bonus, the set came with the premier CD release of the soundtrack on MGM Records No. 305123. The soundtrack was rereleased by Rhino in 1995 with the same cover art, booklet, and packaging. Only the art on the actual CD changed, replacing the "MGM records" logo.
