ABOUT
THE DISC & RECORDINGS:
This is the premiere CD release of the original soundtrack. In England
in the mid-1980s, CBS Records released several of the MGM Records
soundtracks on record, cassette, and CD.
The records included folded posters inside featuring reprints
of
lobby
cards or posters
for the
films (see right) and were the counterparts of the MCA releases of the
same soundtracks (with different cover art) at the same time
in the United States.
This is the first CD release of the original MGM Records version of the Oz soundtrack. The second release was the 1987 Japanese Victor Records release of this same album, catalog #VDP-5067.
