Sound of the Movies

ABOUT THE DISC & RECORDINGS:

This boxed set from 2003, is probably (along with the other two volumes in the series) the most deluxe bootleg set of movie musical soundtracks(and a few dramatic scores) ever released.  Unfortunately, the sound quality ranges from mediocre to downright bad.  Many of the tracks that were obviously ripped from the superio Rhino Records CDs have been mixed down from stereo to mono.  Other tracks are copies of previous releases of recordings taken directly from the film soundtracks the results of which were also mediocre.

Each boxed set included a 60 page booklet of photos and poster art, all of a very low resolution quaility.  It's a shame that the audio contents of the CDs in these sets are so bad because they're a great idea and feature performances by just about every famous movie musical of the golden age of Hollywood.

All images on this page from the collection of Scott Brogan.
