Another in the late 70's "Silver
Screen Soundtracks Series" which were the British counterparts
to the 1974 M-G-M Records "Those
Glorious MGM Musicals" series. Most of the M-G-M Records soundtracks were released in England
under this series with vastly different graphics, as you can
see here. These were all done in the gate-fold style, opening
up to reveal liner notes and two photos from each film.
Another difference is that while the American editions were
in mono, these were in "simulated stereo" which in
those days meant that basically the bass was high on one channel,
and the treble was high on the other, creating a pseudo stereo
effect. Some echo and reverb was added too, to round out the
levels. Sometimes it sounded good, sometimes it didn't.
