ABOUT THE DISC & RECORDINGS:

This new and wonderful CD set puts the spotlight on the collaboration between Judy Garland and Harold Arlen.  Arlen co-wrote the songs for two of Judy's greatest films, The Wizard of Oz and A Star Is Born.  Through the years their paths crossed many times with Judy recording and performing most of Arlen's biggest hits, whether written specifically for her or not.

This set, while featuring recordings we've come to love, also presents several new to CD rarities. Chief among them is the previously lost complete recording of "Lose That Long Face" from A Star Is Born. Thought lost for over 60 years, the complete recording was uncovered by collector Rick Smith by way of his purchase of a set of acetate playback discs that had been sitting in the attic of a home that Judy lived in decades ago! Finally, after all these years, the lost recording - featuring previously unheard lyrics by Ira Gershwin - is available for all to enjoy.

Two more highlights are:  The 1968 Arlen Tribute recordings from the collection of Steve Gruber which have been properly remastered from the original recordings and sound better than any previously released versions; and the extended "Overture" from A Star Is Born as restored by the late Rober Parker.

There is something for everyone in this set, another "must have" for Garland collectors.
