Little Nellie Kelly/Thousands Cheer

ABOUT THE DISC & RECORDINGS:

Record LabelObviously recorded directly from the soundtrack of the the actual films, the sound quality on this record is "iffy" at best.

The text on the front of the album (the back side is blank) states "A Salutatory Event Of Extraordinary Significance Promulgated By The Artistic Endeavors Of Eminent Performers." and "Genuine And Reliable Interpretations Of Outstanding Performances." Go figure!

Judy only performed one song that was a part of the all-star finale of Thousands Cheer - her "duet" with Jose Iturbi at the piano on "The Joint Is Really Jumpin' Down At Carnegie Hall".

Judy's outtake recording of "Danny Boy", although not included on this record, was including in most of the M-G-M Records compilation albums of music from Judy's films. An alternate take of the song is on the Rhino CD "Judy Garland - Collector's Gems from the M-G-M Films". The version included in all those M-G-M Records compilations can be found on the CD "Judy Garland - The Hollywood Years".

Most of the pre-recordings for Kelly and Judy's one number for Cheer are on the Rhino CD "Judy Garland - Collector's Gems from the M-G-M Films".
