ABOUT THE DISC & RECORDINGS:

Here it is!  Finally, the "complete" soundtrack including the extended version of "The Man That Got Away" as well as many background scoring tracks and outtakes. What's interesting to note about this release is that, detailed as it is, it still does not contain several tracks from previous lp and CD releases. These include the outtake recording session from "Swanee" that was released on the 1998 boxed set "Judy". The Roger Edens run-through of an early draft for "Someone At Last" that was included on "Cut! Outtakes From Hollywood's Greatest Musicals - Volume III", is missing, as are several more recording session tracks that have been available to fans for years.

These are minor quibbles however, as this CD is great, with a sound quality that has been missing in previous releases. Just to hear the wonderful background score makes it worth adding to your collection.
