Miss Garland called Al Jennings, the assistant director, at 8 a.m. today, telling him that she did not feel well but could come to work if a car could pick her up. Mr. Jennings spoke with transportation, and arrangements were made to pick Miss Garland up in the company car.

Upon arriving at the studio, she called the stage, and Jennings and I went to her dressing room. She was not well, and I called Dr. Jones, who came over and said Miss Garland should return home. She would not go without first speaking to Mr. Freet, which was accomplished, and at 10:30 a.m. I took her home in the studio car.
