BoxABOUT THE DISC & RECORDINGS:

This was the first "official" Decca CD compilation of Judy's Decca recordings to hit the market. The sound quality is very good. According to the booklet, the tracks were "digitally transferred from original Decca metal parts transfers".

The booklet is well done with a nice essay about Judy by Max Preeo. Although this is "out of print" it can still be found on eBay and is still listed with Amazon. The booklet, as with previous LP releases, mistakenly lists this version of "On The Atchison, Topeka And The Santa Fe" as the 09-10-1945 re-recorded version, although it's actually the rejected 05-15-1945 version that Decca mistakenly released on LP in the 1950's and beyond as the originally released (on 78) 09-10-1945 version. See the "Complete List Of Judy's Decca Recordings" page for a better explanation.

All of these songs (Except "On The Atchison, Topeka, And The Santa Fe") can also be found on the 1994 MCA (Decca) CD boxed set "Judy Garland - The Complete Decca Masters (plus)."

All images on this page from the collection of Scott Brogan.

CDs originally came packaged in large boxes, an effort to deter shoplifters. The packaging was discontinued in the early 1990's as it was seen as an obvious waste of resources. Click on the image at right to see the details of the box.
