ABOUT
THE DISC & RECORDINGS:
Originally
released in 1963, this album proved to be one of Capitol's
most popular compilations. It was re-released over the years
many times, with varying cover art (especially overseas -
see below). Although the contents of the record would remain
the same, the color scheme of the cover and the text would
change, as would the various Capitol logos. Sometimes, as
in the 1987 CD release shown at right, the text would
disappear altogether.
Subsequent re-releases of the 1960s, 70s, & 80s
were numbered:
SM-1999 (1960's mono version)
SLZ 8347 (1963
New Zealand version)
