Judy
with Margaret O'Brien in "Meet Me In St. Louis" and with James Mason
in "A Star Is Born"
This is a
constant work in progress. Below I have broken up Judy's career
into easy to view sections. Each section is a detailed listing
of the events and important dates in her career.
At the bottom
of several of the timeline pages are lists of CDs and Laser Discs
in which many of the recordings listed in the timelines can be
found.
A
NOTE ABOUT THE DATES: I have noted several entries as "Date Approx" as
I know the year in which the event took place, just not the exact
date. In those instances, I have put the event on January 1 of
that year. Other "Date Approx" entries are placed in months which
are the best estimates of the dates that the events took place.
RECORDING
DATES: Many of Judy's film recordings took place over several days,
sometimes weeks or even months apart. I have taken the information
I have and made a "best guess" estimate of when Judy's vocals were
probably completed. The musical underscore for films was usually done
after principal photography was completed. This included music added
to vocal tracks. Thus, those dates have also been listed in CD booklets
as one of the recording dates for the songs. So an earlier date was
chosen as the date most likely when Judy completed the vocals.
