A Star Is Born on CD: Although the newly
restored soundtrack CD was pulled from release a
few months ago, I have it on good authority that
the real reason was that, at the last minute, "better
source materials" were found. So, when it's
finally released, it will hopefully have the best
sound quality to date.
PBS
DOCUMENTARY
In
fall 2003, PBS will air a NEW documentary about
Judy's MGM years. Warner Bros./Turner will be providing
the film clips, so we're sure to get some good quality
images. No other word on it right now, aside from
the fact that author John Fricke, who wrote "The
World's Greatest Entertainer", is overseeing
the project - probably writing it too, but that's
not confirmed. More details as they come in!
