WORDS
AND MUSIC -
MGM 1948
(Release Date: July 24, 2007)
This was Judy's last "guest appearance"
in an MGM musical, and her last with Mickey Rooney (and
their only appearance in Technicolor). The film is a fictionalized
account of the lives and careers of the songwriting team
of Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart. Judy plays herself
in a Hollywood party scene, and duets with Mickey on "I
Wish I Were In Love Again" then solos on "Johnny
One Note".
Judy is the highlight of a film filled with wonderful musical
performances from the likes of Lena Horne, June Allyson,
Perry Como, and more.
