Judy never completed this film. Unfortunately she suffered
a breakdown and had to be replaced. Too bad - if MGM could
only have waited for Judy to get better, the film would have
been much better than it is. Long out of print due to legal
reasons, the film and its soundtrack have been beautifully
restored - including the two numbers Judy managed to film before
her breakdown. "I'm An Indian Too" and "Doin'
What Comes Natu'rrly" give us a brief glimpse of what
Judy would have brought to the role. The biggest regret here
is that the DVD producers decided to trim the "Indian" number
into an abbreviated version. More footage from both numbers
can be found on bootleg videos still in circulation.
Warner Home Video released the DVD on October 12, 2004 as part
of a special "two pack" (see below) and then again on March
1, 2005 as part of a special "Western Musicals" three-pack
(see below).
