The following photos are "snapshots" or "casual" pictures of Judy. Some of the photos were staged by MGM's Publicity Department, or other photographers, to look as though they were snapshots. These were usually sent out to the fan magazines for articles about Judy and her films. Other photos, such as the photos of Judy "on the town", were snapped by magazine photographers for inclusion in their upcoming issues.
The quality of the photos varies, as some have been taken directly from the fan magazines themselves. These magazines are over 50 years old, so some loss of quality is inevitable. I decided to include them, in spite of their poor quality, as I feel that they give us a kind of romantic glimpse into Judy's private life, regardless of how staged much of it may have been for the photographers.
