Back of the albumABOUT THE DISC & RECORDINGS:

Although The Wizard of Oz was released in 1939, it wouldn't be until December 25, 1950 that Judy would recreate her role as "Dorothy" for radio audiences in this CBS Radio Lux Radio Theater broadcast.

Sponsored by Lux Soap. Judy's co-stars were: Hans Conreid, Herb Vigran, Edwin Max, Herb Butterfield, Betty Lou Gerson, and Noreen Gammill. William Keighley was the host, John Milton Kennedy the announcer, and the Music Director was Rudy Schrager.

Side One of the LP includes the introduction by Keighley, and runs up until the part after they meet the Tin Woodman.

Side Two carries on until the end and includes a little chat with Judy afterwards. There is also an interesting advertisement in the intermission about how Faith Domergue, star of Howard Hughes' "Vendetta" uses Lux Soap!

This album was also released in 2001 by Radiola on CD, No. CDMR 1109. The images above and to the right are the front and back of the LP release.
