Side
one of this album is devoted to Judy's performance
of "Suspense" on CBS Radio on November 21, 1946.
The play was written and produced by William "Bill" Spier,
who was Kay Thompson's husband. Kay was Judy's musical mentor
at MGM during the mid-to-late 1940's, and was responsible
for helping Judy further her vocal and performing stylings.
Kay and Bill were also Liza Minnellie's Godparents.
The second side of this album is an interesting compilation
of various Garland recordings made for Columbia Records,
Capitol Records, and Decca Records, plus one radio performance.
The photos on the cover of the album are from Judy's guest
appearance in the 1943 MGM film Thousands
Cheer.
The photo at the right is of Judy with Bill Spears and Kay
Thompson at the CBS Studio while rehearsing "Suspense".
