ABOUT THE RECORDINGS:

This is a fantastic collection featuring tracks from a variety of sources: Decca Records, MGM Records, Columbia Records, and recordings directly from the soundtracks of a few of the films and most importantly, rare radio performances never before released on CD.

Judy's radio performances have been sadly underrepresented on CD, and what few CDs have been released are either out of print or hard to find. The entire second CD in this set is devoted to these rare recordings.

A few notes:

"Blue Butterfly" is the complete version. It was previously released in a slightly edited down versions that featured just Judy's vocal on the 1998 CD set "Judy".

The four 1953 Columbia tracks ("Send My Baby Back To Me", "Heartbroken", "Without A Memory", & "Go Home, Joe") are presented for the first time in surround sound, having been specially remixed by the late Australian sound engineer Robert Parker in 2002.

"Love's New Sweet Song" is the first time a song written by Judy herself (she wrote the words, husband David Rose composed the music) has ever been released.

The song "You And I" heard here is not the song that was featured in Judy's film Meet Me In St. Louis (MGM 1944), but rather a newer song with the same title composed by Meredith Wilson (of "The Music Man" fame).

The liner notes by Lawrence Schulman are well written and bring a fresh perspective to Judy's life and career.

This is a definite must have. A nice overview of Judy's career from 1929 through 1956.
