ABOUT THE DISC & RECORDINGS:

In 1997, A&E (The Arts & Entertainment Channel) aired a special 2-hour version of their superior "Biography" series, devoted to Judy. This special was the first comprehensive and correct visual biography about Judy to ever be compiled and aired on T.V. It contained rare clips, photo, performances, and interviews never-before-seen. Now, due to a change in copyrights for much of the material, the special cannot be aired. A VHS of the special was briefly available on the Biography website and is now sought out by collectors on auction sites such as eBay. It was never released on DVD.

In 1998, A&E/Biography, in partnership with Capitol Records, released CD "anthology" tie-ins to their TV biographies of classic singers including Judy, Nat "King" Cole, Lena Horne, and others. Each CD was lavishly produced, with nicely done booklets full of photos and great liner notes.

Each CD also contained CD-ROM materials including: A special CD-ROM version of A&E Biography's "BioBytes" (an approximately 2 minute mini-biography), a photos slideshow, and software to install the latest version of America Online.

This particular CD is interesting in that it presents a very eclectic compilation of Judy's recordings. Most are from her Capitol albums, however there are a few soundtrack performances as well as the the previously-unreleased T.V. performance of "It's All For You" from Judy's December 1968 appearance on "The Johnny Carson Show" just months before her death.

Altogether an odd, yet still enjoyable, CD notable today only for its inclusion of "It's All For You" and the trendy-at-the-time CD-ROM features.
