ABOUT
THE DISC & RECORDINGS:
This was Decca's 33 1/3 LP version of their
"cast albums" for both The Wizard Of Oz and
Walt Disney's Pinocchio. This version was in print
through the early 1980's, first by Decca Records then by MCA
Records.
This is another one of those "Enhanced For Stereo" albums.
The back of the album boldly states "This Is A Hi-Fi Stereophonic
Record!", even though the recordings are actually mono enhanced
to give a stereo sounding listening experience.
Original mono version of the album (same cover art as shown above) was released in 1956. This stereo enhanced version was released circa 1961 or 1962, with the catalog number changed to "DL-78387" (Decca added a "7" after the "DL" to indicated it was stereo or stereo enhanced).
